First of all excellent communication with the owner My daughter was on business so myself husband and dog joined her in the cottage . The place is spotless and beds comfy, we had everything we needed. It is in a safe secure and quiet spot and behind the cottage across the bridge is a supermarket so we could get any food/ drink if we wanted to. Everything you need is provided in the cottage . There is a hot tub too but you need to let the owners know if you wish to use it as there is an extra charge. Short walk into Norwich where there is a really good food market and many street food stalls . We drove to Southwold which was very nice but there are many more places you can drive to on the coast . The cottage is excellent location for visiting Norwich football ground

Shower difficult to regulate - either too hot or cold. Bar area quite small (but lovely beer garden when the weather is good).

Breakfast was very good! The owner is super nice. The surroundings are beautiful. Free parking.

Very quiet surroundings, but the walls aren't much soundproof, we could hear the couple in the nearby room talking (not loudly) at night. Not easy to find a place to eat after 8pm, most restaurants in the area close the kitchen by then, and they are all at least 10-15 minutes drive away, and you need to drive further than that to find something after 8pm.

Breakfast was great! It's comparatively cheaper than other alternatives in Newcastle.

The bathroom sink is in the bedroom, not separated by a wall, which is a weird choice (using it at night is bound to disturb your partner). At least the toilet is separated by a door. Reaching the hotel by walking from the train station with luggages was feasible but not comfortable: there is a steep descent towards the riverside where the hotel is located, with lots of stairs, or a long winding road. Luckily it wasn't raining, otherwise I'd recommend a bus or taxi. The location around the hotel is ok, not great but not bad. We found Newcastle to be nothing to write home about, plus during the bank holiday weekend the city was a mess already at 7pm (lots of drunk people of all ages everywhere, dirtying and shouting, all caucasian to be exact). The hotel restaurant is wildly overpriced, but food is decent and service was very good.

The plug sockets either side of the bed didn't work. Very frustrating to have to plug my phone in on the other side of the room overnight.
