The welcome from Tony at reception was first class. Very friendly and me feel at home at once. With a main road nearby, I did have my concerns if I'd get good night sleeps over the course of a three day stay. I should have kept my concerns at home. Hardly any noise at all and same within the establishment. No banging of doors or other disruptive guests. Being my birthday weekend, I treated myself to two continental and one full breakfast. Tony and Jane gifted me the full breakfast due to my birthday and even put a candle out for me to blow a wish. You really can't get any kinder than that. The perfect hosts. Bridgend is very central in South Wales and with a great train service from Swansea to Cardiff and vice versa. You can spend time in those cities, but stay outside them in an area like Bridgend. The ideal location therefore and definitely one place I will return to before long.

Great location, walkable everywhere that mattered; quiet during the night, nice view of the park. Front desk was no-nonsense and quick. Room was comfortable. Minibar had 2 capsules of coffee per person in the morning, which was enough, but barely. The bathroom/toilet was spacious. I liked the writing desk with the leather desktop, it was a nice touch. The bed was just firm enough, we slept well.

Toilet handle needed pulling up manually or it wouldn't stop flushing; would have appreciated a bit more toiletries space.

I don't understand all the negativity here! Obviously it's not a five star hotel but regarding the price that should be clear. The room was clean, neighbourhood was safe, and it was easy to get into the city. Bathrooms were good enough. Clearly the owners are just trying to make a living. Worker lives in the same building with his family. I would stay again.

We paid extra for a private bathroom and a private entrance, which, it turns out, did not exist. That was our main problem, other than that, we thought it was pretty good. Other problems were that the door couldn't be locked from the inside and there was no safe deposit box so we had to carry our valuables at all times. Also there was supposed to be WiFi but we never received any info about it. Just a piece of paper with the password would've been enough

The house is absolutely beautiful and decorated to a stunning level. Very peaceful and beautiful gardens too. We loved our huge bedroom and private bathroom and patio. We had our own private wing of the property.

The hotel was clean and tidy. My son and I had an evening meal in the bar area and the food was lovely. The room was nice, the beds were comfortable.

We stayed on a Saturday night, we were woken with noise outside as the local bars were emptying (however this is understandable). The breakfast was acceptable, with a varied choice, however the warm food (bacon, sausage, beans) etc could have been a little warmer.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the property. The tap needs securing in the bathroom along with the toilet seat from a safety point of view. We forgot to mention it but it in no way spoiled our visit and will definitely return.

The floors were filthy, the bedside table was sticky (god know what with) the car park was poorly lit and had a group of people doing god knows what huddled in the darkness. Very intimating as a single woman. This property is clearly being used as a refuge, which I have no issues with, however, it should clearly state this at the booking stage. It is known in the area as such.
