Very nice welcome and check in with Christina who went out of her way to help me. Secure storage for my bicycle was excellent and helped put any security concerns out of my mind. My room was lovely and clean, bed comfortable and shared shower was also very clean with a super hot shower with good water pressure. There is also a shared drying room which got my wet cycling gear dried overnight The whole hostel was very quiet and relaxing and is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. For people who are expecting hotel type luxuries you will be disappointed, this is a dormitory with shared rooms, for the price you cannot complain, even the Youth Hostel in Keswick was nearly twice the price of this place.

This was the first time I have used a shared dormitory, I was in a 4 bed room with 1 other guest which was a little strange but soon got used to it. I felt sorry for Ashleigh,the other guest, as I was leaving early in the morning and hoped I didn't disturb her too much when packing my stuff up, if only I had thought to do so the night before.

The cottage (Wild Pear) was lovely, very clean and comfortable. The addition of the football field and table-tennis room were a big hit with my grandson.

The mattresses were very uncomfortable, they had lots of dents in them which made getting comfy tricky. Our toddler slept on the floor one night as he couldn’t get comfy. The room we were in was small for a family room. There wasn’t much room once we were all in. The room we had I would class as a room for 2 people, not a family.
