Although a beautiful old building the bedroom had been refurbished in a modern style The front of house lovely lady who also served us at breakfast went above and beyond to accommodate us. Freshly baked pastries when they had run low

It was a very convenient location. Good artificial light in both bedroom and bathroom. Though facing to the street on ground floor level it was exceptionally quiet. Easy walk to the station and the beach.

At a first glance the place seemed clean, but at closer inspection it really wasn't well cleaned. A lot of dust on the radiator or sockets. The creases in the bedsheet were hopefully from not ironing them, rather already slept in. Using a wet wipe on the bathroom floor left it black with dirt. Toothbrushholer and soap dish were also not usable. Though it was nice to find a cupboard full of plates, glasses and cutlery, we had to wash everything first. The shower on full power only had ice cold or burning hot water, on medium power there were a few drops of water coming out that let me get cold in the shower and rinsing the hair took forever. There were also no hooks in the bathroom to hang clothing or a shelf to leave the toiletries. There was not one single chair or stool in the room. The yellow pillow and bed covers probably haven't been washed in a while judging by the stains.

1. was advised by reception that there was live music in the bar until 1am, we went specifically for the Belfast live music scene and walked past a couple of places that had music in order to get back to enjoy the hotels offer but as we got there at 2330 we walked in on the last song, so missed a couple of opportunities then had nothing to actually get back for. 2. Asked if reception had a USB C phone charger lead, they sent up a bundle to the room but none of the correct type 3. Paid for the room breakfast service at £20 per plate, plus a room service delivery charge of £5 per person. So £50 for a breakfast which I though was expensive. When it arrived there was no toast that was stipulated as included on the menu. This trip was a luxury birthday trip and was saved/budgeted for hence the expense but my overall comment would be about the attention to detail, all 3 points above that was lacking. If you don't have the right information or facility resources then don't give it. And the breakfast again should be bread and butter operations pardon the pun and the five star should warrant that extra check?

Been staying here for years, the breakfast used to be cooked breakfast, now a joke continental breakfast. Bread two days out of date, breakfast area dirty just not acceptable , never thought I would say this would not stay again
