Positive section of review
The communal areas were fabulous. The garden was so peaceful and beautiful to sit in. The lounge area was spacious and comfortable and everywhere was clean. Free car parking was available and that was a definite plus. Beautiful old building. Private bathroom although small. The staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful. A very friendly place to stay. Bed was comfortable and bedding lovely and clean. Netflix was also a plus. Honestly couldn’t fault the staff there which actually means a lot when you stay somewhere. Some lovely guests to chat to as well. I saw a squirrel 🐿️, robin and blue tits in the garden.

The room was small and quite sparse. Pillows were really hard. One small lamp and only one small bedside table. There were 2 broken mirrors, bottom of the picture in the room was chipped and broken shower fitting, carpet had a few stains, woodwork needed painting. Plastic chair to sit on. View of a brick wall. A few little extra touches, some nice chairs/mirrors and sprucing up, few nice pictures would make a big difference to an actually lovely place to stay. Could do with a shelf or something to put toiletries on in bathroom. Initially I was a little bit disappointed but the staff won me over and I changed my mind by this morning and totally enjoyed my stay 😁 Would be even better with a hot tub to chill in. But overall a great experience.

Excellent location in an idyllic countryside. We enjoyed walking around the local area. Far away enough from traffic but close enough to local amenities (driving). Gorgeous property, modernised kitchen and bathroom with a cosy cottage feel everywhere else. Highly recommend.

Admittedly taking the stairs up to the fourth floor every time was a mistake, but that's on me. There were elevators after all.

Happy, friendly and helpful receptionist. Clean room, beds comfortable and lovely breakfast, definately recommended this lodge.

We didn’t like our room (126) it was dark ,smelt of mould and the view out the window was a wooden board and a tin roof with cigarette ends on it… after much ado we got moved to another which was much better.wewe
