Positive section of review
The host was very welcoming and we always had a nice chat at breakfast where he would provide us with helpful information about our day's activity. The hot breakfast was always a great way to start the day and there's an Inn over the road for a pint after a long walk. We particularly liked that there were buses running from the B&B so we didn't have to use the car, and we could also walk from the B&B to climb Blencathra. Can't wait to return and explore more. Thank you!

Location was out of town but suited our purpose perfectly well - we were able to walk to a nearby bus stop (5 mins walk) at which we caught a bus to Edinburgh (50 mins ride) and spent the day exploring the city

Hotel was a little “tired” in places (well worn settees in back bar etc) but staff were excellent - we were slightly disappointed that they failed to make up our room on the second night of our stay but we would happily stay again

The pub itself was very nice and the food was pretty good, especially the Sunday lunch. The lady that served breakfast was very pleasant and helpful as was the lady who served our dinner on Saturday.

I tried a number of different beers which I drink regularly back home, including Wainwrights which was flat and didnt taste like it should. I ended up trying a few different ones until i went on to Gin & Tonic. When we had finished eating our evening meal, it took a long time to clear the table and on Sunday we had the Sunday dinner and the finished plates were left sat in front of us for an hour, so we moved table which is when the staff member realised.

Location for the Ricoh arena is absolutely perfect , although the neighbourhood to get to it is quite intimidating. Quiet , spacious house with lots of space to park safely

Beds not been made (voulenteered to do ourselves) not been cleaned or swept , didn’t look like we were expected at all , however when we did get in touch Sam was hugely helpful and sorted everything out for us brilliantly

Poor planning of bathroom. No heated towel rail and sink badly designed ie basin small and much too far from the front edge. Noisy fan in background all night despite air con / heater being off.
