Whole semidetached house for ourselves. Absolutely clean, comfy bed, felt like coming home after our daytrips. Super comfy and our hosts gave us a little welcome treat in form of bread and butter and milk and oats <3

Staff on reception were very friendly, as returning guests after not staying at the hotel for several years we were given a bottle of sparkling wine, which was unexpected and a lovely touch.

The staff were really pleasant, food in the bar was good, fair selection of beer. Room was spacious with a nice bathroom. Very dog friendly. Locals in the bar were friendly.

Bed was very soft, felt like I was going to fall out when I turned over. No cooked breakfast, just a continental style, with cheese and ham left out unrefrigerated. Bar staff not able to help with beer selection, really didn't know what they were serving.

The adjoining door (could hear the people next door which wasn’t great as they had the tele on quite loud till midnight and could hear them talking over the top at points) Our shower didn’t drain properly The toilet seat lid didn’t like to stay up so both my husband and my son had to hold it while they had a wee and actually I had to hold it up until I sat down and then it seemed to stay up. Breakfast was ok just didn’t hit the spot can’t quite out our finger on why.

The room was tiny, it was on the 5th floor room 502 it was more like an attic space and very claustrophobic. There was a horrendously bad smell of sewerage coming from the bathroom which I informed reception about, the was a leak behind the toilet/sink area which I had to put a towel down to soak it up, the chap on reception did offer us another room next door to us, but seeing as it was after midnight and we were only there for 1 night we closed the door and made do. We were offered a complimentary breakfast as a gesture which was good of the chap on reception. There was no window, we had a small fan (which was filthy) the room was not fit for renting out, the bedding was badly stained around the bottom of the valence sheet, there was a silver fish type bug in the bed when my daughter pulled back the duvet, the skirting boards were thick with dust, there was only 2 plug sockets in the entire room, we couldn’t use multiple items at once, we couldn’t charge our phones at the same time or use any other items we had brought with us (hair dryer/straightener’s) this room definitely needs a good deep clean to be habitable. I won’t be returning here again which is such a shame as the location is excellent!
