The hotel is in an absolutely beautiful location on Lake Windermere. It has lovely gardens that go down to the water’s edge. You need a car to travel to local towns. Breakfast was excellent with wonderful service from the hotel staff. We didn’t eat in the main dining room but we enjoyed a couple of dinners in the lounge.

Our room was lovely, but didn’t have a lake view. We found the road noise to be quite noisy during the night and in the morning.

I phoned immediately on noticing I had accidentally given the wrong date by one day. A member of staff accepted my cancellation but was unable to transfer the booking. I understand that you're organisation doesn't refund cancelled payments. I will not use your service in the future.

Location was great. We did not actually stay in this particular property as there was a plumbing issue upon arrival. We were moved to another property which perfectly matched our needs.

I was extremely unhappy with the fact that after making payment for the property I was then referred to a 3rd party site to pay a £250 security deposit. I have no problem paying a refundable security deposit but was not at all happy with the amount of information I had to give to a 3rd party company who hold onto the information for 7 years. Information required was all your personal data, plus photo of your passport or driving license. At no point in the booking process were we informed that we would be referred on to this company called Superhog and I would not have proceeded with the booking had i known. I have never once been asked to do that before when booking with booking.com / hotels.com / airbnb etc.

Absolutely nothing. Host - terrible + careless. Booking.com - absolutely SHOCKING customer service.

Worst experience both with this host and booking.com We drove 7 hours to this accommodation to find the owner wasn't there, there were no keys and no instructions of how to get in. Several attempts to reach booking.com and we were told to wait another 40 minutes while they get hold of the host and if they couldn't "we will arrange alternative accommodation". This did not happen, we were informed the accommodation was no longer available and we needed to book our own alternative accommodation. There wasn't anything else available so last minute with 2 pets. We had to book into Travelodge who luckily were very accommodating. Further calls to booking.com to try to resolve the issue as the refund and compensation (£50 for 6 people and 2 dogs) didn't come close to covering our stay resulted in Booking.com hanging up on me TWICE....

We were not informed before we booked that we would have to go through the restaurant to get to our room. It was extremely uncomfortable doing so especially as we had to skirt around a large table of people celebrating a birthday; we would not have booked the room if we had known this in advance. Just a small issue but the towels were in a cupboard in the bathroom - as they are normally on the bed when you check into a property we assumed that we didn't have any and called the porter which was rather embarrasing! It's also a shame that there's no breakfast included. We felt that our stay really wasn't worth the money we paid, we wouldn't stay again.
