Great location in a lovely town, a short walk from individual shops and restaurants. Modern interior but didn't quite complement the old buildings in an historic town. Large light kitchen and living room with big TV. Well equipped kitchen with modern hob, microwave and oven (sadly we had trouble trying to work out how to use the gadgets even with the instructions). Big comfortable bed. Nice big towels and good quality linen, a good shower but we would have preferred an upstairs bathroom. Helpful owner who was easy to contact. Outside table and chairs provided but we didn't sit out as 'patio' was actually in the car parking area.

The owner turned up the heating for us but never felt really warm or cosy. Uncomfortable leather settee, you could feel the metal frame through the cushions which kept slipping off (convertible bed settee). A few throws would have helped. Only a few Freeview TV channels available. Toilet was very low and the seat needs replacing, it was clean but stained and slid about and banged when sat on! No rail on the stairs which seemed dangerous (we are elderly!). Only just enough space to squeeze round the bed (smallest room we have ever slept in), no space to dress/hang clothes, or sit to put on make-up/dry hair. Towels were left on bed so had to carry them downstairs to bathroom?! For the price we really expected more 'frills', at least some toiletries.

The property was in a great location and the rooms were really spacious! The pillows are the comfiest pillows we’ve ever slept on so much so we’re actually looking to purchase them for home. The staff were so kind and decorated our room for us as we were celebrating a birthday.

The breakfast couldn’t have been better. I really like the idea of pre-ordering to cut down on unnecessary waste. The location was perfect, just off the high street. The hosts were discreetly attentive, warm and welcoming.

After constant requests for a receipt, the owner just ignored me. I messaged through booking.com, he said email him. I emailed him, he said ring him. I ring him and he says he will send it, but nothing. I explained I needed it for business expenses, so I guess that one is at my expense?
