Friendly and quick check in. Room was a great size and very comfortable. Hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities available. The decor of the hotel is definitely in keeping with the style of the building with lovely old oak panelling throughout. Can't comment on the evening dining options as we are out but breakfast was great with a good variety of options and no problem when I wanted to make a few changes to the menu options! Staff all friendly and efficient. It is also only a 10 min walk into town where there are lots of eating out options.

In keeping with the property there is no lift however when you have been allocated a room up in the roof it is quite difficult to carry your luggage up( and down)the final very narrow staircase. So if mobility is an issue or you have a large suitcase as I did ensure you request a room on a lower floor before you go!!

Greeted warmly on arrival and given clear instructions re parking. Room very comfortable and quiet with lovely views. The excellent bed and darkness at night made for a good sleep. Wide variety of items on the breakfast trolley followed by a delicious "full English"! No rush to check out.

The lodge is in a lovely location. It’s really nicely decorated and has everything you need while away. The welcome pack was a really nice touch as it meant we could have a cuppa when we arrived. The place was spotless and the bathroom was lovely.

Rooms were lovely, windows blocked all noise . Very clean and spacious enough. Breakfast was fantastic, continental breakfast but also with a proper breakfast menu you would find in upscale, modern cafes around town. Food was delicious.

Staff were great, food was lovely, so was the room. I would recommend you stay here if you are visiting York. It's a cheap 15 min bus ride into the centre of York. This is a fantastic base to enjoy your time here.

not a lot to not like, the only slight negative I would say would be a foam duvet as opposed to a feather duvet. That is a pretty small item, though.
