  Everything about my stay was ideal: the directions given, initial welcome and continuing friendly interaction without being intrusive, comfortable cosy quiet ultra clean accommodation, lovely high ceilinged breakfast room, walks on the estate, easy access to town. Highly recommended and I'm looking forward to going back

  One small drawback is the slightly lower than 3 metre ceilings in the rooms. For guests interested in morning stretches and exercises there is a lovely stone courtyard just outside though

  Spacious and spotlessly clean. Beautiful ground floor bedroom with en-suite for people with mobility issues. Two huge bedrooms upstairs with really comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen. Gorgeous gardens for sitting or strolling and also a tennis court! Overall a very fantastic place to stay.

  Location great and the home was comfortable. It was lovely that there were some children's books and games in the living room.

  Poor communication with host. Had to call after check in time for keycode. In advance of the stay I had to send copies of photo ID to an email address and a deposit of £250 via bank transfer. Receipt of this was not acknowledged and I was chased for it again. The property had a broken door latch on the bathroom door so it couldn't close. The host let me know about this on the afternoon of check in. I chased for the deposit return 2 weeks after my stay, and was told I hadn't followed instructions and that they had tried to call me, but I had no record of such a call. At this point the host had been in touch with me via email, WhatsApp, phone and used the messaging portal on booking.com so there were many ways they could have got in touch with me. Overall, rude host with poor organisational skills let down what would have been a good stay.

  We always choose this hotel chain - I must say we were utterly disappointed. On entering the hotel - musty mouldy smell noticed and around the building and lift, bucket with water and water damaged ceilings. Our room was a double and we asked for a twin - no one asked our preference as it was for one night we didn’t want to make a fuss. The room - water damage to ceiling, wonky bed - only 3 castors on the bed, pubic hair on the top of the duvet - or chest hair I don’t know. Duvet cover ripped at the seam, lumpy hard pillows, was actually very disappointing and we have never stayed in this chain of hotel and not enjoyed our stay
