Positive section of review
The staff were great and very helpful. The breakfast was good and there was a nice choice of freshly prepared fruit. The room was good and the tea and coffee facilities were generous, there was plenty of space and the bathroom had both a shower and a bath. The location was excellent, very close to the main shopping area and also to the river.

The mattress was a little uncomfortable and the room would have benefited from darker curtains. There was also a lack of electric sockets in the room when we needed to charge devices.

the property itself was lovely, very nice decor and spacious. The property is a period cottage with a modern interior and a nice garden. 2 good size double bedrooms and a single, well provisioned kitchen and spacious living room with a 70" tv.

the only parking is at the front of the property, on the road. Because we had to park close to the wall on the front of the property it meant I had to stop to let my partner exit the vehicle before parking and then reverse the process when leaving. The advert on booking.com states there is parking available and I think it should be made clear that this is not off road.

I liked that the hotel was close to the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful. The complimentary bottles of sparkling water was a nice touch.

It would have been nice to have a fridge in the room. I would have liked to have a hot chocolate before bed, so a couple of sachets of hot chocolate would have been nice.

The hotel is typical for it's age; old and tired. Decor a bit scruffy in places. Room old fashioned. The room actually smelt old and I had to wash all my clothes when I got home even when I'd not worn them as there was a pervading old smell about them. Cleanliness was okay at sight level, but there were cobwebs on the ceiling of our room and dust on lots of other surfaces. The water into the bath was only mildly warm and we had to boil a kettle to add hot water to it. Think they need to replace carpets and curtains because it was probably those fabrics that held the smell.

The house is amazing, clean and perfect for a group of friends.

The hottub inside was overfilled so when it was used the water came over the side and there was no natural drainage so spent alot of time mopping up after.

This hotel is not 4* as described on booking.com. The room was very substandard, not clean and had a very poor smell of human waste which made it uncomfortable to stay in. The hotel staff were unable to move me to another room as the hotel was fully booked.
