The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

If travelling by train the location is (unsurprisingly) excellent. Breakfast afforded various options and was delicious. What surprised me was how popular, friendly and welcoming the bar was. They may not have been "proper beer", for which I went to the Marine & Ship pubs, but I spent a happy end of the evening carousing at the Station before retiring upstairs. The fact that everyone had been packed in for the quiz (every Thursday night, apparently) may have contributed to the convivial mood.

If you are looking for the harbour or beach then be prepared for a 20 or 30 minute walk, but this is such a nice town that it felt more like a pleasure.

First impression's I would just like to say ,when we arrived at the reception desk early asking if I could leave our case we where greeted by Callum who was so friendly and welcoming and nothing was a problem. we had a wonderful first stay and will return ,we had drinks in the bar before going out ,a great selection of drinks ,staff at the bar were also so friendly and made us feel welcome ,the furnishings were so stylish modern and all the beautiful lights everywhere we will return .

Breakfast was good would suggest to have more than one member of staff at busy times to clear the tables and reset the tables that are free .

Most welcoming and gracious owners, beautiful guesthouse and breathtaking property on the coast. Photos can’t possibly capture the loveliness of the home and property. Divine breakfast. Regret we couldn’t stay longer.

The ambience was terrific. Fellow guests also enjoying this "one-off" experience. Dinner in the ballroom was great quality, as was breakfast.

The hotel is very shabby in places, and looks in dire need of TLC. The dinner portions were very meagre, even though you expect small plates in a fine dining experience. It seems the hotel was understaffed, although the service at meals was still good. Having paid so much for a room, and the reception we received from Simon, I was expecting something a little more of a personalised experience. The milestone birthday warranted a couple of chocolates on a small plate with a "happy birthday"...

Our room looked onto the balcony and people sitting on tables looked in. So couldn't have window open but this was only during pub opening hours. And for low mobility best room as rest were up more steps
