Good assortment of items for a continental style breakfast in very pleasant and relaxed orangery setting. Beautifully restored and furnished house and extensive grounds. Rooms well provisioned with bathrobes and slippers, tea-making facilities etc. We were seeking local respite from building works in our home and were made to feel so comfortable that we stayed nearly a week, rather than just the one night originally planned. Very peaceful and excellent value. Highly recommended and Chelsea and Darren, the live-in caretakers (and Patricia the owner) couldn't have been more hospitable. Would certainly suggest it for any overflow visitors that we might have.

We had a two bedroom apartment. All of the apartments are accessible via lift. A cot and high chair for my baby son was provided with no additional cost. The cot was assembled and ready to use. Tea and coffee making facilities were supplied including milk. The large living room and kitchen with dining corner provides a good location for eating and relaxing between excursions. The bedrooms are relatively small but the bed is very comfortable to guarantee a good nights sleep. We would recommend the apartments to anyone wanting to stay comfortably in the centre of Edinburgh.

Concierge not interested with a request which I asked for. Wanted an ice bucket for the complimentary Prosecco in room for Saturday evening and true to form this request was not implemented. When asked concierge earlier that day he said of course I’ll arrange that for you. I asked did he not want my room number to arrange and then he caught on and took it. Reminded him on way out on Saturday night this was not done and he was disinterested. Gave bottle back at checkout as I could not carry on flight home.

Parking is very difficult. Maybe the management can think about a better solution. A little bit bigger fridge could help and some plates and cutleries for those who would like to eat in the room their own food.
