This is a cracking, simple but spotless hotel. Right off the A1, with surprisingly quiet rooms overlooking lovely fields, I was really pleased with my two night stay here. My room was basic but absolutely immaculate and spacious. The staff here are the fabulously rare kind: genuinely friendly but really hardworking and efficient! Everything worked, my bed was really comfy and the food was fab. Breakfast was fresh and hot, Dinners were tasty and the menu varied. Will definitely be back.

Soundproofing of the hotel internally could be better, but it's the design and age of the building really. I had earplugs so I was fine after 5 mins anyway.

Beautiful farmhouse B&B set in beautiful gardens for guests to enjoy, with summerhouse, outdoor seating and honesty bar. Room was spacious and very comfortable, with all the amenities you could need, and more. The hosts were very helpful, friendly and accommodating, and choice and quality of breakfast was first class! Would have loved to stay longer!

Loved the location, the hotel was beautifully furnished. The bed was so comfortable and the room was large and well furnished. Air conditioning was a plus The staff were all lovely and so friendly. We sat in the bar late and two young men waited around to serve us even though the bar had shut.

No parking on site and difficult to find a space in the car parks as it was a Saturday.

Property is well laid out with plenty of bathrooms and amenities. Staff are a great laugh and super nice and everything is well kept, clean and organised. If I was needing to get back to Edinburgh in a pinch I would gladly book again!

I think the stairs but that cannot be changed they are tough hahahaha. One thing I felt uncomfortable by is the dorms being mixed, I didn’t mind a good mixture of people but at one point I was the only woman in with a room of 9 men and given current events, it was quite frightening, but that is partly my own fault for not thinking that was a possibility. If more thought was put into the bookings if it’s even possible, it would be I’m sure a relief to a lot of women staying. Showers were also cold every time I tried to use them no matter what settings I changed on the knobs.

Hair drier missing Plates were dirty Inside kettle needs cleaning Garden useless due to the state of it. We had our puppy with us and had to take him out in the middle of the night for a walk because of the condition of the garden. Not safe for kids neither. Back door needs to be fixed, we struggled opening it and closing it.

It was very dated, the staff on reception day before when I rang were extremely rude. Room was battered needs a refurb for the price charging
