The hotel room was like a little apartment with a door directly to outside with a very big bathroom rooms modern and clean all you could ask for it was there tea and coffee towels provided also dinner was very nice and staff friendly couldn’t fault it ! Would recommend and would stay again perfect for a night away or could of even stayed a week there really ! Lovely rural location also

If I had to say something our bathroom window on the other side was a under stairs bit which was full of rubbish ! And anyone could go in there just needed cleaning up or even a door putting on the area just so not just anyone could go into our window for security purposes mainly and just to make the outside look tidy just not what wanted to see on first view but apart from this everything was lovely! Hense why I wouldn’t mark them down for this issue

Loved the quirkiness of this cosy shepherd's hut. It was in a fabulous location with everything you could want for your stay. Helpful, friendly staff and a well stocked shop on site. The unexpected extras of a cream tea and bottle of wine was a fabulous surprise.

Staff were very friendly & helpful. Hotel rooms were very clean, comfortable & pleasant although some breakfast staff seemed disorganised.

Continental breakfast was poor in choice & orders were not fulfilled correctly. Hot food & beverages were not served hot. A continental breakfast is best served from a buffet. The cost of the hotel should include a cooked breakfast. We ate in the restaurant for one evening meal, which was not served hot & had little choice.

I’ve stayed at the Castle Inn before & it’s ideally situated for visiting friends. It also has a swimming pool & gym.

Unfortunately the hotel was recently taken over by another hotel group. I knew nothing about this until I checked in. Also it was in the process of being updated, again no mention of this until checking in. Lots of hammering & drills in the room next door, so after being out for the day, quite noisy until around 5.30pm.

Marks on one towel. After looking at how clean the room was we didn't think it was a dirty towel but it was stained .

Carpets were fairly new and the kitchen was quite clean and new.

Overgrown, unusable garden, rotten decking in the rear garden. Front of the house was over grown and looked unkempt. There was a wooden garage with a hole at the bottom, that a mattress was poking through. There was nothing about the house on arrival that qualified as "beautiful" as in its description. The Understairs door was not attached, hinges had come off the frame. There was wiring exposed / dangling in the hallway. Kitchen folding door, was broken at the top and the glass was loose. Big stain on the sofa, which we didn't want to sit on. Door handle in front bedroom was broken. The cushion on the bed had a cigarette burn in it. The pillows on all the beds were that old and used they were about 2cm thick and lumpy. Didn't even want to take the cover off to look at them There was mould on the ceiling in the back bedroom and on the ceiling in the bathroom. The property was advertised as having an iron, hair dryer and coffee making facilities - non of these were in the house. It was advertised with outdoor space and garden furniture. It was that overgrown it couldn't be used, didn't even venture outside. We left this house after 1 night as my son is allergic to house mould and pollen, with mould on the ceiling in bedroom, which I tried to wipe off, and an overgrown garden, we couldn't stay. Also I didn't want to stay due to all the above, the longer I stayed the more I noticed that was wrong and i felt like I was itchy and grubby.
