Positive section of review
The Delta is a large hotel overlooking York racecourse. It is conveniently placed on the main road into the city which is easy to reach via bus or taxi. It has nice gardens that go downhill almost to the racecourse itself. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It served out our purpose as a place to stay for a couple of nights while attending an event in York.

The hotel has a swimming pool but it is quite small for the size of the hotel. The Delta was very busy but it is a family hotel next to a major British tourist attraction, It is not a place to stay for a romantic or quiet weekend but does not claim to be either. You have to pay for parking.

Room was smaller than expected but clean and comfortable. The shower was powerful and everything I needed was there. The staff were helpful and friendly. Very close to the station. I loved the foyer and bar area. Very aesthetically pleasing.

The bar served toasties but I didnt think much of them. The gin was good though. Plenty o places to eat nearby if yer peckish. Really it isn't that important.

The hotel was well located in the village. The room was small but it was very clean and comfortable and had all the required facilities. Breakfast was good and the price reasonable, given the lack of hotels in the village.

There is no parking near the hotel so you have to drop off luggage at the hotel then go to the car park up the hill. The nature of the village makes this unavoidable.

Location, value for money, bus closeby. Although in Glasgow rs windows weee double glazed so it was quiet and easy to sleep

Service in the brasserie was a bit chaotic and all over the place at times, especially for the price. The menu online for the Brasserie is also different to the actual menu in the restuarant.

It’s not a 5 star. Far from it. Understaffed. All the windows are single glazed so noise is terrible - we were woken up at 5am on both mornings by glass bottles being emptied/recycled. I asked reception if guests often contaminated about that to which they responded yes! The internet on the top floor was also very poor so much so we used our data. The breakfast is disappointing not even offering any fresh fruit.

The communication was good, very efficient. The apartment was clean.

The outside of the flat was not clean. There were no cups in the cupboard and no lid on the kitchen bin. Who wants to sleep in a bedroom with an open kitchen bin? There was no ironing board. It is not in a very nice area, especially for 2 women. It is 25 minutes walk from Halifax town centre. Our neighbours had a party until 5am so we got no sleep. We only booked as our accommodation was cancelled whilst we were on route to Halifax. I will never book with Booking.com again, total nightmare. Still waiting for a refund of the additional money we had to pay.
