The room was big with excellent views across the lawn down to the river. The food was excellent, the portions were amazing including breakfast. The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. My only disappointment would be that I was looking forward to a balcony or terrace but that is not the hotels fault it was the description on the booking agent website.

Unfortunately, the large bathroom mirror was broken/shattered and the bed wasn’t very comfortable. I hurt my leg on bedroom frame as mattress is smaller than bedroom frame..

The hotel has no lifts and Despite requesting a ground floor room and getting confirmation that it was granted, upon arrival we were told we were in the annex adjacent to the hotel and 3 floors up with no lift.. the room had cobwebs in the bathroom, the shower had virtually no water pressure due to the hose leaking, the tap on the basin was faulty. At breakfast we were poorly greeted by the head member of staff who seemed uninterested in us and showed us to a table, when asked if they had orange juice the staff member just looked at my partner like we had insulted her family. The breakfast was mediocre at best certainly not worth the status of a Great Breakfast as advertised and certainly not worth the price.. on departure whilst checking out the staff member at reception asked what room, I told her and she said that I must have the wrong room number I reassured her that I was correct and then after lots of paper shuffling and tutting she found our checking out paperwork and then just said it’s fine.. NO how was your stay.. not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel.. would not recommend..

Room was far too hot had to use a fan all night and the bed was very low to the floor, mattress was very worn with bubbles all over the cover and the sheets didn't fit and kept on coming off exposing the worn mattress.
