Lovely house, spacious with great facilities. Pretty views. Great parking right out the front the house. Only 10 minutes from the centre of town. Great communication from both Sheri and the handyman Steve. 9 girls stayed for a hen do and felt perfectly safe…there’s already been talk of returning every year!

The only tiny problem was the lock on the front door is a bit tricky but once you’ve worked out the nack to do it it’s okay. Also, quite a few creepy old toys and dolls but they made for some entertainment. Oh also - no locks on the bathroom doors.

Good value for money. The room was well prepared and perfectly acceptable for an overnight stay. The location, with easy access to the M1, was also good.

One reason why I picked this hotel was that it advertised a restaurant, with opening hours on the website showing as open through to 9 pm. Looking forward to a relaxing meal and a drink I was not impressed on arrival to be told that the restaurant was not open that evening. I was even less impressed to then be told by the receptionist that there was a chippy just up the road, so I wouldn't go hungry! I don't know if the closure was a one-off, or whether it's always closed on a Sunday evening (the hotel was very quiet). Fortunately I found a pub who went out of their way to prepare me a meal, even though they had stopped serving food an hour earlier!

There was no hand washes in the bathrooms, only tiny soaps. I had to go and buy some as sharing a tiny soap between 6 people didn't feel adequate.

Both showers didn’t work properly. It was very difficult for 5 adults to have a shower. No one bothered to have one on the Sunday. The sittee was extremely uncomfortable. Outside area was dirty. We were woken up at 7.15 am first morning by the builders upstairs drilling and hammering. I reported the showers on the Saturday at 5 but was told that it was to late into stay to do anything. This must have been an ongoing problem with the showers but it was denied when I said this. I wouldn’t recommend booking through altido to anyone.
