We kept saying that this hotel was a hidden gem, it's tucked away behind a very busy road, but when you enter the court yard you are transported into a calm oasis of utter beauty. The building is very very old and the history is very well explained on the website. The garden has exclusive access to the wall which surrounds the inner city of York, a beautiful area to just sit and relax after a busy day visiting all the wonderful sites of the city. I must mention the staff who were without exception the best we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Nothing was too much trouble even down to a little packed lunch to bid us farewell.

We have been to the Trentham Hotel before and it's always a pleasure. Amazing room, and breakfast is spot on, we will be returning 😁😁

The whole place needs a complete refit. Homeless man living in a van outside our room !!! Balcony two feet deep in weeds, outside furniture should have been replaced years ago. Room tiny and In need of redecoration. Decking on the staircase rotted and dangerous. I could continue but think I've made my point. Wish I had taken photos you probably don't believe how bad it is. Except for the staff.

We were put into another one as ours we had booked had a leak . The one we went in had gas issues and boiler problems we had repairs out twice on the Saturday no hot water or heating from Friday to Sat evening half a day wasted waiting for gas people to come to fix boiler . No private beach as states on booking .com Totally stressful time couldn't shower or cook or have heating on

Boiler wasn't working. There was no hot water in the kitchen and bathroom, and central heating also didn't work. I contacted SJA MANAGER, and I explained the situation about the boiler, and he said the boiler is broken and we can use two electric heaters but we couldn't use two heaters because only one was patch tested I told this to manager he said its ok to use but is NOT without patch test no enough heaters for living room bathroom etc we been with little baby as well. All kitchen equipment wasn't patch tested tv also and lamp in living room no patch tests in all house. I would like to get a full refund. Still a lot to say not happy at all
