Breakfast was made to order. Excellent location. The room was fitted to a high standard with everything you could need or want including a mini fridge. But best of all was the exceptional welcome from the hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and it was a fabulous home from home break. I can’t wait to return.

Can’t fault a thing!

The location close to the station and within walking distance of the city centre is great. The neighbourhood is very nice, with several supermarkets close by and a cozy pub down the block. We shared a room with four people, which was fine for sleeping there. There is a nice shared kitchen and sitting area.

Our room was not spacious at all: the beds took 85% of the space, and moving around with four people was like playing Tetris. We all knew each other so that was no problem, but I can imagine it’s not if you are sharing the room with strangers. The beds also do not have curtains, and for the lockers you need to bring your own lock.

It was relatively close to shops, restaurants and the railway station. Full cooking facilities and a welcome basket of goodies. Very modern and well presented inside although you hit your head on the light fitting when standing up from the lounge.

Parking was hit and miss. Public parking area only. If first impressions count, it would rate poorly. To access the apartment you have to climb a set of dirty, rusty steps to get to the back door upstairs. The apartment itself was nice although the close proximity to the main street meant that you could hear the 'lager louts' yelling on the street. Also the main bed was a double bed. Very small.

The location was excellent. The hotel has been renovated to be more casual but I liked it before when it had high dining upstairs and casual food downstairs.

Self service everywhere - breakfast was a letdown as you had to help yourself to everything. Not much choice other than the main course of egg, bacon etc and I would have liked bread rolls and pastries. Car park is a nightmare so get there early as not enough spaces for everyone.

The spa zone requires reservations and nobody informed us during check in. When we finally book the spa we did not receive information about additional entry code from the receptionist and was forced to come back to the reception from outdoor area.
