Beautiful apartment, “cabin“ might be the architecturally correct term, but it was certainly more than that: Spacious, with enclosed court/garden area, winter garden; bathtub comfortable for two; living room with stove - it lit immediately well and added a warm and romantic flair. Surprise: the breakfast “invitation“, i. e. eggs, butter, strawberry jam and milk in the fridge, and bread. Thank you so much, Sarah! We slept very well, the bedding is of high quality and the mattress was perfect for us. It was very quiet. For dinner: In 15 minutes walking distance there is a nice pub, the Turfcutters. Friendly people, good dinner. We will certainly come back if we are in the area again.

A problem we solved, but important to know for all other guests: This booking platform removes attachments and links in the communication thread, so if Sarah mentions an ”attachment”, make sure you get it on some other way. The name sign on the entrance of the property is different from the name Pear Tree Cabin, the location this booking platform displays is WRONG (there is just a parking lot) and not even the GPS data this platform publishes are correct. - This is no criticism to our hosts who did everything to make our stay enjoyable, but a problem of the agency.

What a beautiful Castle. The Staff really did make us feel so welcome. The gardens do need to be seen to be appreciated. Their exceptional, and the Peacocks really did make us chuckle. We will be back again soon. Thankyou for such a lovely few days.

New, modern and clean. Location was good. Breakfast was good, albeit fairly expensive. Great to have onsite carpark, but again, expensive.

Rooms are modern but not practical. Nowhere to sit, except on the bed. A chaise lounge is in the room, but you can't sit on it as it's under the tv cupboard, and you hit your head. Bedside tables, but no cupboard or drawers. Only 2 drawers in the wardrobe. No shelves. There was heavy rain during our stay but nowhere to hang our wet coats up in the room. The bathroom was lovely and modern, but again, not a shelf or a hook. Nowhere to put wet towels, except on the small radiator, or the floor. On arrival we were asked if we wanted our room serviced, bit shocked, why wouldn't we? Realised its obviously to reduce cost - hotel cost, not ours. Most hotels ask you to not change towels every day. No suggestion of that, but as there is nowhere to leave your wet towel to dry, you obviously need fresh towels every day. Rooftop lounge not open Mon/Tue. No other bar available.

Good breakfast, check-in both quick & friendly - really pleasant reception staff, who clearly knew Glasgow.

We came down to breakfast at 9. The food was fine & decent choice, but almost every table had been used, with dirty dishes waiting to be cleared. There was one poor waiter doing his best, but he explained that there were no trolleys (all awaiting repair, apparently) so he had to traipse dishes by hand for the whole restaurant. We ended up pushing dirty dishes to the end of our table, where they sat throughout the meal.

The location. This was our second visit. It is convenient for us as close to family.

Total lack of attention to details ranging from non working bedside lamp, plus other bulbs and non working extractor in bathroom, to rusty dirty furniture in garden by beautiful pool to getting breakfast all wrong. Plus were welcomed by lady who.must have swallowed a lemon, much more cheerful person on duty when we left.. Unfortunately this very much reflected our previous visit.
