I was travelling with my father and spent the weekend in Holyhead prior to embarking a cruise. Whilst the main town of Holyhead is fairly sleepy, Applebys was the perfect place to stay. Carol (host) looked after us brilliantly and made us a delicious breakfast each morning. She also very kindly drove us to local landmarks (such as South Stack) and recommended local restaurants such as the Harbour Bistro (also excellent). The room was spacious and beds were very comfortable. We would definitely return here if embarking/disembarking a cruise again. Thank you Carol for making us feel so welcome!

Everything from a very comfortable room on the third floor to the welcome at reception when arriving. The space of the hotel is inviting with a large lounge to relax in, and large dining room. Being a Victorian Hotel there is plenty of space and large corridors. The free car park was very welcome with plenty of spaces available. The hotel is a five minute walk from the centre of Keswick.

The breakfast was excellent as a self service full English, but after four days it can be very repetitive. I would like to see some variety on the menu such as kippers, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, fish with a poached egg. Fruit, cereal and pastries are a given !

Location is great , 5/10 minute walk to the sage, or over the bridge to bars and restaurants. Beautiful view and looks stunning on a night when bridge is lit . If you want to go into Newcastle city centre , there is a bus over the bridge literally takes around 5 minutes. Staff were really friendly .

Bedroom was disgusting ! If I hadn’t pre paid I would if left ! Walls dirty , marks , lamps, towels dirty . Breakfast was nice although don’t think it’s worth its price £13pp pre booked or £16pp on the day . Lots of noise on a night I found , could hear doors slamming and people talking as going past .

Nice quiet spot, comfy beds and everything we needed for a relaxing weekend, one thing I would say is the fridge and cooker were a mystery, as no instructions for cooker and fridge didn't work to well but freezer did. Lovely breakfast in the cafe. Easy for shops and Bude 10 mins away.

The staff were very nice and the reception was very stylish. The room was clean, spacious and had a very large comfortable bed. There is a lift to the upper floors. The bar and dining rooms looked very inviting.

The floor was very creaky. The walls weren't sound proofed. The shower was over the bath with a shower curtain.

Apartment is beautiful decorated and the bottles of orange juice and biscuits were a nice touch. Fast replies from the host everything was so easy. Such a good place to stay for work or visiting Leeds.

I Know this is pretty standard, but not being able to open the windows and get fresh air is always annoying!

Brillant location Room was ok - basic Dog friendly ( with rules )

Staff could have been more smiley - looked grumpy on reception - not that friendly - the lady who checked me out was lovely tho - Dog costs were expensive for two dogs and that should be more clear about the cost on booking - nearly more expensive than the room itself and for what . . . A deep clean .( you need to bring your own beds etc ) but I did not understand because if it was for a deep clean then why pay for two dogs when you have to do deep clean for one Very unclear - Food was ok
