It was nice, for a change, staying somewhere the complete opposite of a Travelodge or Premier Inn room. Instead of big and boring you get quite a small room, but quirky, all decked out in red and orange wallpaper, as were the corridors. The bathroom, though, was actually roomier than what you would get in those hotel chains. so I was quite happy there for a couple of days. No breakfast but there are loads of places available within a short walking distance.

The location is great. Within walking distance of the Utilita arena, Lego Discovery, Sea-Life Centre and plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity to. The breakfast was really tasty and included.

We didn't sleep that well, partly because our son was in the same room as us, but the bed could have been comfier.

The property was in the centre of Keswick which was absolutely brilliant for strolling out in the evening to local bars and restaurants. The property was ample space to relax and was clean.

We would have preferred not to be on the ground floor as every time someone entered the building you could hear them and obviously we got no views as described in the higher up apartments. I was disappointed that no one got back to me about an earring I lost in the apartment. The message I sent was after I returned home but I have still heard nothing.

Superb team who always look after us incredibly well. Food was, as ever, great and plenty of choice for both breakfast and dinner. A great wine list and the same nice friendly ambience.

The wi-fi is pretty hit and miss and the tv reception is fairly ropey, but we don't come to watch tv so not really a big issue for us, but if we bring the kids it wouldn't be so good!

It has been taken over by another company who have updated the inside and have brought a tired looking hotel and turned it into a very smart tidy place 😀

The meal in the grill on the hill , bar eatery was awful , we had a chicken pate for starter , we were served up one piece of small stale bread to eat the pate with , we then had gammon, chips and peas , the peas were solid like pellets , we again complained and were surprised by the staff reaction....uninterested , we decided the next night to give it another chance , another chef was on , different staff , the food was 1st class , the staff were lovely especially the lady who served us , so helpful and very chatty personality 👍

The property looks nice. There was plenty of parking. The lobby looked clean and inviting. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was clean.

The room itself was basic. The bed was large but not very comfortable. There were some holes in the bathroom wall, badly filled in and not painted. Nothing special about the room to justify the higher price, no coffee machine for example. There were glass water bottles in the room but they had been opened and presumably filled with tap water (the lid sealed were broken). (Same standard as a basic Travelodge room with the exact same amenities - just twice the price).
