My room was generous, and well equipped, with a good bathroom/shower. There were plenty of power sockets. The room was quiet and comfortable and I slept well. Breakfast was amazing, with an excellent buffet of hot items - even for vegetarians, plus copious amounts of 'Continental' breakfast including fruits, salads, cereals, cakes, juices. hot drinks. Plenty of car parking, but this was £7 for the night

I had a slight mix up with my room because a booked a double bed and was given two singles. But the staff were very helpful about changing it over, and I got a room with a large double bed AND a large single. I make this comment NOT as a criticism but to highlight how helpful were the staff in the hotel

Beds very comfortable, pastries at breakfast, location and all staff pleasant until I complained that they had broken contract law by advertising the facility of a pool, when not only was there no pool at the property, but the use of the pool at the sister hotel Muthu Alexandra was not available due to refurbishment. They acknowledged their advert was erroneous but would not consider any financial compensation.

The fact that the manager admitted liability for a factually incorrect advertisement of a pool which was not available when I checked in but would not compensate me. Also, our room smelt of bbq sauce when we arrived. This was due to being overlooked by a dirty grey building which had an extractor fan just above and opposite our window, and 11 commercial bins in the alley below. I'd definitely recommend paying the extra for a view of Oban Bay at the front of the hotel which is stunning.

Excellent hosts went above and beyond our expectations. Room was lovely and clean bed was amazing best night sleep we had in ages. Breakfast again was above and beyond what we expected . Nothing was too much trouble for them . Would definitely stay again .

Free parking for vehicle. Close proximity to the Railway station where Jacobite steam train is located.

Our room was different from the one we booked and provided fewer amenities that we paid and expected to have, i.e., NO refrigerator NO walkin shower (shower over a bathtub) Unfortunately, traffic noise outside our window and the noises from other guests in the room above and next to ours made our 2 night stay very 'sleep deprived', which added to our disappointment in this accommodation.
