Yotel is conveniently located in Edinburgh's New Town, an area which is at a walkable distance to the Waverley Train Station, Old Town, Dean Village, Stockbridge and Calton Hill. There are many cafes, pubs and restaurants nearby. The room has a modern vibe, with a bed that can be electronically shift into a kind of reclining couch.

As it happens with many hotels, the bathroom facilities are integrated into the room. If you turn on the bathroom lights during the night, you will surely wake your partner up. The breakfast buffet, although it offers many items, is of medium quality. One can have a more fulfilling breakfast experience in one of the many cafes close to Yotel, spending about the same amount of money.

Fantastic building, easy parking, super comfy beds, dinner and breakfast were amazing and the bar/dining areas have a lovely characterful feel to them. A nice touch to have Classic FM playing quietly on the radio when you get to your room! ;) Stayed twice and will definitely be back again.

They need to check when bookings come in as our last visit was with a dog and they said they didn’t have any rooms. We almost left but they managed to get us into a room which ended up being a really nice room with balcony.

First and foremost, the landlady is amazing. Very helpful and just plain nice to talk to. Thank you for showing us the northern lights! The room is lovely, and the to-go breakfast bags kept us going for a few days later :-)

OK, the location is kind of remote. And do take seriously the warnings about restaurants being booked out (we did not).

Location and comfort. A nice bath and walk-in shower. The owners were very thoughtful providing a welcome pack.

The door to the back garden was a nightmare to open, then had major problem locking it again. The bathroom was on the top floor so a trek up two flights of stairs from the living room and kitchen.

The swimming pool was dirty and grimy, not pleasant to swim in and service in the fitness centre was poor, waited for 15 minutes for someone to come to check me in but nobody came!

Wifi - still struggled with it - even though told it had been upgraded Minor , low level - as such a small sink in bathroom - little sign would help to reduce splashing water over bathroom floor at first - verbally told each other but kept forgetting
