Stayed only 1 night. Upgraded to deluxe room which they did not have therefore looking for compensation as paid for upgrade. Also only stayed 1 night as room and ensuite were filthy , flooring damaged could not use shower as dirty, kitchen in same state not sure when last cleaned and to top it all they have a RAT problem. Standing in kitchen and Rat walking across patio and disappearing under house. Not what was advertised and would not recommend to anyone and as stated looking for at least some compensation as had to book into another hotel for remainder of stay.

The accommodation was at great location and affordable and Teena was a great host. She gave us tips regarding public transfer and she often checked up on us to be sure everything was ok. We was also very nice and kind regarding our late arrival and check in. Definitely recommend! And thank you.

The Hosts Roy & Vicky very hospitable making you feel relaxed in the bar area plus breakfast couldn't do enuff great breakfast local produce sausages bacon Black pudding plus if that wasn't enuff and u got a large plate too !! Extra toast tea & coffee was available

The location was very central to York, so it made it easy to walk to our destinations. Shower products provided

On arrival there was litter in our room and we had torn bead sheets, and our kettle wire was zip tied shut so we had to hold our kettle to boil it. Next our extractor fan was broken mix this with a window that’s screwed shut it made for a foggy damp and humid room. At night our air conditioning was turned off, so with a humid room with no window to open my partner had to go to reception at 3am to ask them to turn it back on, they did but only for 30 mins. So for a hotel that is designed for people to sleep in we didn’t sleep much. To rectify this they did give us a free cooked breakfast, however the experience has left a very sour taste in our mouths. We got a call on our way home offering us another free breakfast if we stay and they still asked to rate them 9-10/10 on booking.com, this was just offensive at this point, we hadn’t even arrived home when we had received the call.

The room wasn’t clean, there was a rip in the curtain, coffee cup mark on the windowsill and the floors were dusty and dirty. There was a small make shift bar with no draught beer and the bottled beer and wine was at room temperature. Breakfast was sparse, we were down at 09.30am and very little food left. Coffee was too strong, bitter and cold. There was no one in the area to see if you required anything. I am aware the hotel going through refurbishment but if I was made aware of the extent I would not have stayed.
