Travelled from Scotland and stayed here on the 17th-19th May '24 with my disabled mum to visit the Emmerdale Tour (Approx 20mins in a taxi to that location from this hotel). This hotel sits in absolutely stunning grounds! Approx 15mins taxi ride to Leeds Train Station. The accessible room for my mum as resquested was excellent, despite an issue with the toilet flusher and a leaky/dripping shower in the wet floor bathroom we were definitely more than happy with our room and the beds are like sleeping in the clouds. Our room being in a seperate building from the main hotel was enjoyable for us. The on site restaurant serves delicious food and, as a lover of Starbucks...having this within the actual hotel is like gold dust!!! The hotel staff we interacted with were extremely helpful and always with a smile! A great stay and we will be back again! Thank you!

This is very likely to be outwith the hotels control but the Starbucks staff were quite rude. Barely smiled when i approached, almost like my order was begrudged by them both. After which they immediately started chatting about their weekend party plans, and gossiping about their friends and/or other colleagues while i waited for my order. Very unfriendly and unprofessional from them which was a let down...coffee was nice lol...

This hostel was probably a very lovely hotel once - but that was a looong time ago. The building is actively falling apart with damp; but the beds were comfy and seemed clean at least (there were some stained sheets, but they'd clearly been washed after being stained) the staff were perfectly polite and the organisation of the place worked great. If you are a crimson peak fan, you'll love it!

I didn't much mind that the walls of the bathrooms were crumbling, you could hear dripping from above when in them, and general signs of neglect. It's a cheap place to stay, and it's neither my circus nor my monkeys. However, I imagine this was once a lovely little hotel, in it's glory days, and when it had individual rooms, I bet the facilities were enough. Now, I had to go down to the bar to brush my teeth in the morning, even though I wasn't leaving at a busy time, as there wasn't a sink on our floor, which left at least five rooms (and our room had nine beds!) with two sinks.

There was no anti slip mat in the bath. No tea towels and no dish cloths. I was unaware that there were 3 flights of stairs, the last flight having 2 dog legs. Extremely difficult for 80 yr olds with 2 large and heavy suitcases There seemed to be no way to get the heating to work / so we were a bit cold at times.

The receptionist wasn't very friendly on one occasion I tried to book in online for more accommodation but my phone didn't seem to connect to the site. I phoned reception and left a message and no one replied

Water leak came down into lounge from shower when used bathroom wasn’t very clean on arrival a razor and soap had been left in bathroom food left in kitchen looked as though it had been left there quite some time milk open from previous people wasn’t impressed with that games room smelt very musty and was used for storage of other items so not appealing the garden was totally overgrown no attention at all
