Lovely front view of the sea. Liked the communal downstairs areas, although old furniture in the quiet room, it was cozy. Liked the designated car parking space, we booked this in advance Liked the position of the hotel in Whitby; easy walking distance to everywhere. However lots of steps so not so good for people with limited mobility

We didn't receive any housekeeping services during our two night stay, would have least liked the towels changing as the room was too small to properly hang them out to dry. Would have preferred a separate shower rather than over the bath. Very old hotel that is in need of refurbishment, could hear road traffic and noise from the upstairs room The room was very basic with only tea and coffee facilities, but this is what we paid for.

The house was in the perfect location for walking into town along the lovely green Cathedral Walk. Our host left some lovely food and drink including wine and cereals for us which we appreciated. She was great to communicate with before we arrived. The house itself is comfortable and well equipped.

The only issue we had was with the hot water, which was timed to go off at 9am. I think this was mentioned in the handbook - we just hadn't expected it, and it took a while to re-heat so some of us could shower in the morning. Perhaps the timing could be set to give guests a bit longer to shower, wash up etc, in the morning.

Convenient for tube to Heathrow although Hatton Cross underground station has no escalators or stairs. Not good when you have heavy suitcases

Very hot room only 1 free standing fan no air con opened windows the little it would let you but was noisy as room was on high street. Very uncomfortable bed ( very hard). Very narrow staircase and that was the only way out if there was a fire and we were on the second floor. No breakfast available at premises and local cafes did not open till nine so we had to use a very expensive hotel which was nearby

Hairdryer plugged inside cupboard couldn't use use it tidy as side cupboard stopped the door from opening fully. Not enough plug sockets in room
