The accommodation was quaint and unique. It was perfect for a two night stay. The view was really lovely. It was unfortunate that we didn't have time to relax on the deck to enjoy the view, as we were out and about till late each night and only came back to sleep. We were able to admire the stars as there was very little light pollution. The futon was perfect for a small child, but it did get in the way of walking around in the small space. This won't be a problem if it's just two people in the hut, as the futon folds into a sofa.

It was a unique experience to have to go outside to use the toilet, especially in the middle of the night, with owls hooting and squeels from prey echoing in the night air. I didn't mind too much, but my son wasn't comfortable going out to use the loo. It's beautifully done up and you wouldn't realise it's a toilet from the outside.

Keys and apartment were ready for us as soon as we arrived. There was plenty of parking available for our van and the property was in a good location for hiking nearby. It is close to the village, but far enough away to be quiet. You can walk to the local shops nearby. Shower was good, with an ample supply of hot water. Lighting was good. The bed was comfortable. It had a dishwasher and washing machine. Plenty of space to relax in. WiFi seemed to work well.

Some elements were not as clean as they could be (shower & toilet). The kitchen could do with a few more pots, pans and a bigger selection of cutlery - for shorter stays though, it is fine! The property is not wheelchair accessible.

Could be cleaner outside the room, windows had finger marks, carpets needed some attention.

The hotel's location is very handy for events at Balmoral.

The view from our suite was of the car park. We struggled to work the sofa bed and the legs were buckled. It was very basic facilities. Unfortunately it was not that great and could have done with some little touches such as dressing gowns and slippers but we understand it's now totally self catering. We had to keep our shoes on in the room as it was so cold. There are no restaurants open for breakfast. When we ordered the breakfast basket it was also very basic.

Provided no water. 2 sets of elevators closed and couldn’t get an elevator. I saw a young lady in her wheelchair go down on her butt step by step three floors while her friend carried her wheelchair. Too busy
