It's like stepping back in time. Gorgeous decor with loads of original features, furniture and ornaments. The bed was very comfy. Setting and views are fabulous. Very quiet part of Lake District.

No draft beer, though Hawkshead bottles were a great alternative. Bar meal and drinks felt expensive.

Everything you need including self catering cooking facilities. Very handy to Loch Ness. Quiet location. Clean and comfortable. Parking in driveway. We loved it.

This is a home pod, so quite cozy, but still ideal for one night. As it's in a country spot, a small amount of milk available would have been perfect.

Lovely spacious room and very good sized bathroom. It was nice to have a separate bath and shower. The food was of a high quality.

Lovely room and spotlessly clean. Large room and very comfortable bed overlooking park. Close to town centre and harbour.

Great location only 6 min walk to the underground which was very handy. Staff were very nice

The rooms didn’t look like the pictures, we reserved a deluxe double room but got given the compact room Alerted this to staff so this got amended to a deluxe room. Both rooms were very small with limited room and did not look like the pictures. Our walls had some damp which wasn’t very pleasant, limited plug points, only one mirror and only one bed side table. Made most of it as was only there to sleep/ shower

Compact but comfortable, with everything you would want on hand somewhere in the nook!

Central location in Hawes

Very dated property . Room - Wallpaper coming off walls, dusty in areas. Hotel hallway dark and used for string all manner of items including mattresses. Breakfast room most of tables only sat two people, we were a family. No hot breakfast offered, we thought it was only a continental , not very appetising and it was only as we were about to leave that we heard one couple being asked if they wanted to order hot breakfast - we were never asked. Hotel was in need of a full makeover and thorough clean. Disappointed.

Beds were comfy.

It was a last minute decision to stay over so this was on the only accommodation left in our budget. We can’t say anything bad about the place but staying in a hostel just isn’t for us.

The location
Negative section of review
There was no shower, only an old bath. The towels were thin and frayed. The bed was the narrowest I have ever slept in and the pillows were ancient and unhealthy. The room did not match the pictures shown on their website. Water seeping through a hole in the roof in the foyer.
