The staff were very friendly, and helpful. When I checked in, there was an issue with my room. I went downstairs to see about switching, and a staff member facilitated that quite quickly. I greatly appreciated that because I was exhausted from travel, and the room I was changed to was quite nice. The room I was changed to was set up well with a wardrobe, two beds, and a desk. I found the bed I slept in to be comfortable, and the free breakfast was good as well. The room I was moved to was extremely spacious with a nice window overlooking the front of the hotel.

The issue with my first room was due to a leaking pipe. Not the hotel's fault, these things happen. When I moved to the second room, however, I found that one of the provided bath towels had a massive red/orange stain on it. I'm unsure what it was (rust maybe?), but that was taken care of when the hotel staff changed the towels the next morning. The only other thing of note was that the bar downstairs was open late, and it was somewhat difficult to fall asleep one night because of the noise from people leaving.

Very clean cottage with a fabulous view especially from the light and airy main bedroom. The kitchen has mugs plates etc for 6 people has a few cooking pots and pans a toaster and kettle but really no other equipment. There was no cleaning items to enable us to clean at end of visit. The cottage is lovely and comfy and in a very high area which allows great views but a steep walk up and down to railway station etc. so good for very fit people. I would visit again for the cottage not so sure about Grosmont! PS loved the bed linen!

Just the steepness going up and down to Grosmont

room was nice, very quiet considering it is right next to the airport. We were going to a concert at the resorts world arena and it was a ten minute walk away. staff friendly and though we didn't eat at the hotel, the food menu looked good.

the NCP car park next door is eye wateringly expensive at £59.99 a night. However, we parked by the train station for £22 for 24 hours.

A brilliantly equipped kitchen which was great for cooking, lovely shower, great location for exploring the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley. Recommend breakfast at the Parkend Cafe a short walk from the accomodation.

For us the bed was too soft but that's our preference. We still got a decent night's sleep. We also had problems with the WiFi and fire stick but we were told this might happen on arrival and it didn't bother us too much.

Didn’t advise about the carpark being closed from 8.30am to 4.30am in the morning. Breakfast served at 8am but the car had to moved by 8.30am so didn’t have breakfast. Getting out of the car park took 15min, due to single lane and cars coming down. Staff could have supported here, as I had to reverse back down the road 3 times. Plus this made me late. Also sound proofing poor. The garden and outside tables backed onto the room, at 9.30pm still very loud outside.

Location was good.

Very unfriendly and unhelpful receptionist. Room was poorly decorated with chipped and cracked sink and bath in the en-suite. Toilet roll holder was behind the toilet so was inaccessible when sitting down and was also hanging off the wall! You need to request if you want your room serviced, but we weren’t verbally told this and we didn’t see the written instructions towards the end of the information left in the room. The result was to come back from a day out to find the bed hadn’t be made or tea /coffee hadn’t been replenished. We then had to face the rude receptionist again. Our stay was NOT good value for money.
