Was a last minute plan as we were attending an event nearby. Great views and secluded enough you feel you can unwind. The property itself is very gorgeous, and staying as friends, we loved the open plan layout and incredibly spacious downstairs. The rooms all have smartlocks with key card entry and great quality bedding with big, fully opening windows in each room. It was far enough away from the road that it was very peaceful as well. The host was lovely in going above and beyond on our arrival and the heated marble floors throughout the downstairs are a nice touch to. Some huge properties feel cold when you've been out all day/night, but this was incredibly relaxing to come back to. I absolutely wouldn't hesitate booking the place again, just probably best as another group booking :)

When we were shown to our room, which had a bathroom next door, I did politely ask "who do we share this bathroom with?", to which the answer was "it is just for you", indicating a private one. To my surprise I had someone else (thankfully a friend staying in one of the other rooms down the corridor) walk in. Also thankfully I was only applying my makeup, however had he had come in 10 minutes before then he would've been greeted with a rather naked me in the shower lol. The lock mechanism on the door did not work for us during our stay. We had a room that had little floor space apart from a U shape around the bed, and yet it seemed we paid the same price as what our friends paid, who were in significantly larger rooms and en-suites, which was strange. No TV in the room (again, not an issue if you don't mind sharing the downstairs one), but then little things like no bin in the bathroom or liners in the bedroom bin makes it feel a bit unfinished. Having to carry makeup wipes back into the bedroom was a bit odd.

Had an eye infection due to disability and when I checked in I asked how far was the room from the lift due ( how many doors down and direction) to low eyesigh. They asked “why are you needing to know this” even after I explained. Room was dirty was pubic hair in the shower, dirt and debris back of the bed. Also reminded me of a private hospital room. 100% no different than a bupa hospital abroad. Definitely was the original design or perhaps future use? Either pretty strange. Next day I asked about borrowing a phone charger or where to buy. Again was greeted with a face of shock and disappointment. They didn’t seem to want to help and all And was made to feel really small and uncomfortable. So different from the ibis Portland street.
