Positive section of review
The photos don't do this place justice, private little chalet with hot tub, recently refurbished, garden overlooked by a few sheep only. We had breakfast and Sunday lunch at the pub which was great.

I read some reviews about the staff not being friendly etc, which I can understand why that's been said as there isn't much smalltalk etc but that's fine with us, the staff are focused on their jobs and the bar is run very efficiently, there's a difference between being rude and being brisk.

Sound of traffic at night. Only complaint I have was staff who served us coffee were quite rude. 20 mins before closing and they rushed our coffee and taste was awful. Didn’t ask if we wanted choc on top and made us feel very uncomfortable. I’m a coffee fan but never experienced rude service

Location was perfect, it was a good sized flat and it had all of the essentials. We also had all of the check in info in good time. Fairly clean!

We had to pay using a separate link which I hadn’t seen before but after confirming with booking.com, it was safe. The property was very warm so we kept the windows open but were woken multiple times in the night, mainly at 4:45 by a group banging on the main door to get in and other times due to all of the main doors in the building slamming. We were slightly concerned about the sellotape on the ceiling in the bedroom. There was no body wash in the shower and after being told this would be provided, none of us brought any. The tap in the sink in the bathroom wouldn’t get warm so only cold water. Bare minimum necessities put into the room, the fairy liquid was only around 2cm full but was watered down. We weren’t able to get the oven to work properly.

When we got there, someone was in our parking space (beyond the control of the host). Rang the host who told us what to do, sorted in 5 minutes. It was an inconvenience, but sorted very quickly. About an hour later, the host rang again to ensure we were settled and had no further problems.

The rooms are in need of a little updating which does not show in the pictures. Rusty shelf over the bath .. the windows are single glazed with very old, rusty latches that do not keep out the noise from the busy road next to the hotel. I did read that pets were welcome but our room smelled of dogs and dogs were allowed in the breakfast room. Not happy that whilst eating our breakfast, we were in view of 2 dogs using the garden as a toilet where we had sat and had coffee the day before.
