Reception staff excellent. Didn't see anyone else except in the bar. The bed was good and the bathroom, but there was a hole in the carpet and the curtains were falling down. For breakfast, the food was ok but not hot enough Andrew no knives,forks or spoons or bowls for porridge. Nobody to ask at 8.00 am.

As above. I thought the hotel was close enough to Heathrow for a hoppa bus but I had to take public bus with a heavy suitcase. Next morning I was told a taxi would cost £22. outrageous..so the hotel was too far away from Heathrow.

Beautiful, well-equipped and spacious apartment which acted as an ideal base for our trip to Scotland and the Northumberland coast. Lovely grounds and surrounding area - the walking routes via the rear of the castle are recommended. Great value for money.

The hotel is very centrally located to the town and is easy walking distance to a lot of activities. Despite this, our room was on the back of the hotel and it was peaceful and quiet for sleeping. The room itself was comfortable.

The hotel does not provide breakfast. There was a coffee maker in the room but the water reservoir leaked and when we filled it and tried to use it anyway, it didn't work. I had emailed to let them know we would check in late but no one was there. Thank goodness for the other guest who worked tirelessly calling 3 different people before she was able to contact someone from the staff to come and let us in. Finally after about an hour someone arrived and we managed to get into our room. The front cover of the magazine on the bedside table had some substance on it that I prefer not to name. (we promptly threw it in the trash). The placemat under the coffee maker was soaking wet and there was water underneath - it had clearly not been cleaned. We were there for 3 days. We had absolutely no maid service and as we left early each morning and came home late each night, there was no one to ask for anything that we needed. There is no one on site after 10pm each night.

Staff very friendly, nothin was too much trouble at all. Bed was also very comfortable and extra pillows were easy to get.

The room was very very warm even though there was a fan it didnt cool too much. Normally not an issue but outside it was roasting aswell which didn help. A few more chairs in the smoking area would be good

Noisy, lots of humming from fridge and air con, right next to train tracks so you’re waking up as soon as the train starts. Not comfortable beds with dirty pillows - have gotten a stye from two nights of staying. Blinds don’t have a seal so light comes into the room in the mornings very easily. No table/desk to eat or work from so have to eat in bed or eat standing which is not ideal. Room was absolutely tiny too so very bad value for money.

I booked this hotel after staying here a couple of years ago and had a previously great experience. However as a returning customer I was disappointed this time. The room initially when we first arrived appeared nice, clean and welcoming. Myself and my boyfriend checked in and pretty much were straight out again after quickly getting changed, as we had plans booked for his birthday in the evening. So it wasn’t until we got back in the late evening and looked at the room properly, when I noticed the uncleanliness of the room. The lights below the bed weren’t switched on initially, so when we got back and switched them on they highlighted the amount of dust and dirt that was on the floor by the bed and surrounding. I felt disappointed with this, as it seemed the room had not been properly cleaned ready for our arrival. I will attach pictures below. In addition, there was a door in our room that led to another hotel room next to us. We weren’t aware if this, and it’s not something that particularly bothered us, this was however until the guests that were staying in that room returned to the hotel, and we could hear absolutely everything they were saying, furniture moving, etc. It almost felt as if we lacked privacy and made us quite uncomfortable. These guests were playing really loud music and overall making a list of noise until the early hours of the morning. I do understand that this is not the hotels fault, although it did make the stay a lot more difficult. We didn’t have a great sleep and made the overall experience disappointing. In summary, as a returning customer I feel sorry to say I won’t be returning for a third time. I had high expectations but unfortunately the uncleanliness and lack of privacy, as well as the loud music, singing and talking at 2am didn’t make the stay enjoyable.
