Positive section of review
The location is fantastic to explore Winchester and enjoy the city. The apartment is outfitted with modern amenities yet still somewhat charming because of its attic location. We have everything we need, including basic supplies of tea and coffee. The apartment is also spacious enough as we stayed with our little kid and appreciated enough space for her to run around. The hosts were also quick to respond and allowed us to check out little bit later in the day.

We were worried about the earlier bad ratings that they had, but we took our chance based on the better, more recent reviews. In the end, there were a couple of negatives, which the earlier reviews seemed to have warned us: 1. the bed was uncomfortable (almost like a sofa bed), and the owner could really invest in a newer mattress or a top mattress. 2. They withheld our deposit citing some stains in the bedsheets. We asked for more info or proof. We know this is unfounded and can't believe we are facing this 'claim' like some of the previous reviewers. After some days we got our deposit back, but this felt like an unnecessary disruption during our travels. After all, we still recommend this place for its location and amenities. Just be careful of this 'deposit' situation. It feels like a bit of a gamble, potential money grab, or lack of transparency. After all, even if there was a stain, I assume that this could/should be covered by their cleaning fee, as I certainly hope that they wash bed sheets after each guest. It is a nice place in a great location, so I hope that the owners can be more transparent about the deposit situation.

Excellent location. One bus stop from Gatwick Airport. The guest house located in the pleasant English countryside. Good choice if you need to stay for a night before an early flight from Gatwick

It was not immediately clear that rooms were not serviced , beds and bathrooms , in room coffee cups not cleared and cleaned daily , no replacements of in room coffee and milk sachets. The heated towel rails were non functional , and thus your bathroom towels stayed damp and moist. The in-room charging plugs were limited. The hotel frontage requires some work and the operability of windows , is a concern.
