  I’ve given our stay a 10 because everything that mattered to us was perfect. We stayed in room 12 at the top of the Mansion House, amazing views from all windows. The beds and towels were spotlessly clean and we had a little kitchen area to cook food and make drinks. Jane on reception was absolutely lovely as were all the staff we encountered. The grounds were pristine and the rhododendrons stunning. The indoor pool was clean and the water temperature perfect.

  I have to give a balanced review. The Mansion House is a beautiful old lady who, like the writer is showing her age. Although clean and tidy she could do with a bit of a spruce up, especially the kitchen cupboards. If you have walking difficulties it’s a long long way up the stairs to the top. None of this mattered to us and we’d book that room again to be able to see the wonder views.

  Lovely room. Very clean. Beautifual grounds. Staff were pleasant. The building was stunning and well laid out with various places to hang out. Could have been warmner though

  Breakfast could have been better. More choice on eggs for example omlette included in price and berries could have been fresh rather than frozen. Gym was a bit tired as was the shower area there. Needs treatment rooms. Could have been better if they ran gym classes on Saturday afternoon and some of Sunday
