Breakfast was very good & our waiter was extremely helpful. We booked a double room(as did our friends) but our room was small, dark & depressing. Our friends chose to book the same but their room was bigger with a king size bed. We then upgraded at an extra cost of £300 for 5 nights.

Our initial room. No water provided for standard rooms - we had to collect a jug of water from reception on arrival.

Staff were friendly and attentive. Food, both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Dinner, very tasty homemade suet pastry pies, beef and chicken, with freshly cooked vegetables. The cooked breakfast was just the right quantities, lovely fresh food, well presented.

A relatively new hotel which had a number of maintenance issues. Electrical sockets malfunctioning, switches stuck on or off. Window lock broken. Some doors sticking and damage resulting to floor. The grounds were being let go. No weeding spoiling the many borders and beds.

The front door locked safely.

The room was absolutely filthy, glass in the carpet, crusted food up the furniture and walls, dirty condoms in the bathroom. Shower gels were empty, lightbulb had no lamp, and there were no ironing facilities as stated.
