The park in which the cabin is located is lovely. Picturesque lake with colourful Rhododendron bushes surrounding it. And a river running down through the site.

Unfortunately our stay at this accommodation was awful. There was a significant amount of damp and mould throughout the property. This included both bedrooms and one bed had significant amounts of mould on the beds slats. We had slept on this bed (myself and a 7 year old child) for 2 nights without realising and we're horrified to uncover it. The cooker hob was cracked and damaged which was a huge safety concern and meant we could not use it. The shower is in a state of disrepair, with large holes in the wall, window broken to a point it could not be secured and mould. Towels were damp and had to be aired out before use. Majority of glasses, plates and bowls were dirty and had to be washed before use. We left a day before our check out date after realising we'd slept on a bed full of mould and uncovering so many issues. After contacting the owners they insisted they should have been given a chance to resolve the issues, but all issues raised should have been resolved before our arrival and any attempts to resolve them during our stay would have had significant impact on our stay. It truly spoilt what should have been a relaxing and fun time away for us as a family during half term. We were so disheartened by it. This accommodation is unsanitary and unsafe and should not be rented out until all matters have been resolved.

The hotel was comfortable and warm. The rom was clean and spaceous. The staff were helpful during our stay.

There is no lift so carrying large baggage to our furst floor room was a physical challenge. I made contact with the reception team after check out, (by email and phone) to enquire about possible lost property and I never received a response., which I vonsider unprofessional.

The restaurant was closed on my first night but reception didn’t tell us. This was annoying as I had planned to eat there. The next day I went to the restaurant for lunch, the waiting staff were busy setting empty tables. There were only 2 other guests at the bar/restaurant. Despite this I had to ask to order a drink and food after waiting 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. The first room I was allocated stunk of smoke so I had to be moved to a different room- the staff did this immediately without any delay. The lady serving at the upstairs bar at lunch time said ‘we haven’t got any lemonade and I’m on my own up here’…there were no other guests at the bar, and it should have basics like soft drinks. The staffing and stock issues are not the guests problem and should not be raised as such
