This is a nice country pub which sells excellent beer. The room was perfectly adequate for a one night stopover.

I would just make one observation. The room we had which was twin bedded had a bathroom door which was an old-fashioned sliding door on squeaky old runners. As this is a pub and you Drink beer 🍺 you of course need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Sliding the door open and shut in the silence of the night sounded like a tank going by on the road outside. And of course that wakes the other person in the room.

Far too expensive for what it was. Room absolutely tiny. Window that barely opened. Wrong WiFi code on the door. Small, Smelly, Uncomfortable

I totally objected to being asked to pay a deposit before using the room! As if I'm going to damage or steal something? Also if you're going to treat your customers that way at least have the courtesy to examine the room and confirm a refund before the customer leaves? Staff couldn't speak English well enough to answer questions about this. I will never use this hotel again or recommend it on that basis. The basement room I was given was clean but tatty. Bathroom door didn't close. No door on the bedroom so a buzzing fridge could heard through the night. No bulbs in either of the bedside lamps!? You couldn't open the blinds fully otherwise you could be seen from the street. There was noisy building work going on on arrival in the afternoon and early the next morning. The building and room seemed to be secure but I couldn't be 100% confident so I didn't leave anything valuable when I went out for the evening.

Room 10 has sloping ceiling with velox windows which is uncomfortable. Booked an executive room, but they only have one type of room - standard. Menu did not impress - chicken milanaise was just a breaded chicken according to waitress and only steak available was a hanger steak. Hotel is tired with lots of maintenance needed.

Rail to attic was awful, no support and when carrying luggage is quite dangerous Dusty Blinds broken Shower hand held leaking water everywhere Bed ridiculous hard Carpets so hard We are really disappointed about our stay we was newly weds so this was our mini honeymoon and feel disappointed with the stay While other rooms might be better the attic room wasn’t at all enjoyable I had been told good reviews from people I know have stayed but they never stayed in the attic room We wouldn’t stay again if it was the attic room
