We didn't meet João in person, but communication via Booking went very smoothly. Also the self check-in is very easy. As for parking: there are a few places in the driveway, but there also is a convenient public parking space nearby where we parked our car every night. The apartment is located in a quiet street, but is still pretty close to the city center (1.5km - 2km) where you can find all necessary supermarkets, restaurants, ... And it's also located quite central on São Miguel which makes it the ideal base to explore the entire island.”

      The location- very convenient place to look for food, shopping and walking distance to Edinburgh Castle etc. friendly & nice host, the cosy apartment. The host came all the way to help us to book/get grab/transport to the airport. Since we have problem with our Grab apps.

      The walk- up stairs. Only when you carry big luggage...but we managed. Should have expected that since it is in historical/"old" ,building

      Breakfast was very good and the view of the loch from the breakfast room was stunning. At very short notice they accommodated us for another night in their recently renovated ground floor flat which made our stay extra special.

      Everything was great, the service at reception is lovely. I left my suitcase key at home by mistake and the team managed to get my suitcase opened which saved me a lot of stress!

      Person above me (I was in 166 and they were in 266) was smoking all night and throwing cigarette butts onto the roof by my room. The smell of smoke was overpowering all night. I got no rest at all because of this

      When the pub was busy, car parking could be a challenge. The room was accessed up an external metal staircase, which was a challenge with luggage. The room was quite small and had a metal pipe running across the ceiling, which was a challenge for a tall person.

      We stayed at this hotel for two days - 2 friends travelling together so splitting account - what a joke 1. They preauthorised the full room rate amount from both our accounts . So essentially double room rate. On highlighting this to them they told us the would reverse but it would be up to our bank to clear it in up to 10 days. This then meant that our funds were not available due to their mistaken pre authorisation. On checkout we were virtually told it was our fault. They then charged the correct half each for room which was what was supposed to happen in the first place. There didn’t seem to be a problem denying our account but unauthorising the overcharge it has been 2. One of us had the pending funds returned in 5 days the other one is still waiting for the pending amount to be released over 1000 aud its now day 15 . so for whole holiday there was no access to these funds. They treated us like silly old ladies one of whom was an ex banker and they laughed at us when we walked away - we will never stay there again. The only one that apologised was the Concierge and we thanked him for that 3. For a so called 4 star hotel The room was dated with the sink not draining Taps broken, no hairdryer of rubber mat for the slippery bath/shower even though there was signage to say use it, and foyer flooding of which I understand happens often 4. It was not anywhere near what you would think of 4 star hotel 5. The restaurant and housekeeping staff were helpful
