  Excellent value for my Sunday night stay. Clean modern Prem Inn type compact room. Free Wi-Fi. Kettle, Tea, coffee, juice & nibbles in room. Free on street parking 6pm to 10am. 5 minute walk to railway station, shops and restaurants. 15 minute walk to Cathedral. Excellent comfy cafe opposite hotel. Micro brew pub a 2 minute walk. I didn't sample the indian restaurant attached to the hotel. I'd definitely stay again.

  Excellent location for visiting castles,coast & gardens. Breakfast room & downstairs good. Breakfast reasonable,plenty of choice. Brewhouse served good food but very little choice for non-meat eaters. Plenty of tea & coffee supplied in room. Water was hot enough in the shower. Quiet at night when I was there.

  Room was not brilliant(11). No warning it was up 3 flights of stairs with more down into the miniscule shower. Bin had not been emptied from previous occupants. Problems with shower door & key for door & curtains off the hook. Mattress could do with a change as rolling off the side & springs noticeable,lucky I was on my own.,& could sleep in the middle. The worst thing was the pervading smell of cooking in the room & upstairs in the hotel. Used my own air-freshener. Issues mentioned to management while I was there. Did ask for a change of room but none available & got used to it.

  Our room was very comfortable however the window was so close to an opposite a wall there was no outlook at all. While this did not interfere with our stay (just a stopover on the way to Knaresborough), it did make the room feel claustrophobic.
