The studio room did not have electricity. It was very cold. I had 4 children under 14 years, youngest being 3 years old. The electricity was provided by external source. Fan heaters were not working. I called the landlady around 2 am but did not get any response. The window curtains allowed the sunlight inaide the room at 4:40 am disturbong us.

Comfortable room with nice views of the city. Artwork like sculpture of crocodile in lobby area and black and white photos in hotel fun to look at. Very convenience to the train station. We enjoyed the restaurant and staff in hotel very helpful.

Access to hotel lobby area was difficult with large luggage due to steps. The courtyard area looked nice and inviting, but too many smokers using it so we weren't able to enjoy it. The smoker's kind of ruined it for everyone else.

Hotel staff was gracious to check us in hours early which made our stay much more relaxing and refreshing. My room was spacious and very comfortable. It a bit old school, something I appreciate. Overall, a great hotel, value, and location.

We asked for early check in as travelling with special needs family member that needs rest after long flight and drive. Chose this hotel as a pit stop for one night for that reason, notified our reasoning when booked. Received a rude response that not likely for early check in. We understand that it may not have been possible. When we arrived at reception we were greeted immediately with a firm we cannot give you rooms early we’d have to wait until check in. We hadn’t even asked yet but the initial conversation sounded like they were ready to “put us in our place” for asking. They told us how short staffed they were at every opportunity (we also understood) but it became apparent they thought we were annoying for even asking and had chosen to make us wait as long as they could. 3 o clock check in time came and went and still we waited, when approaching the reception to ask if rooms were ready they were polite but clearly making a point of how annoying we were. Other people were checking in and we were overlooked, If I didn’t have my medically fragile daughter that needed rest with us we wouldn’t have cared. It’s a shame they mistook our genuine concern for our daughter for us being pushy and demanding. Being a customer service specialist I would have shown some compassion even though we had to wait. I would have asked housekeeping to clean one of our rooms asap and taken care of the person that needed accommodating. Darryl the manager should make sure his staff show compassion instead of being irritated by a request that annoyed them because they were stretched for staff. As a customer paying a lot for 3 rooms we should not feel we have listen to them feeling sorry for themselves by quoting short staff at every opportunity rather than focussing on customer care. It’s a shame as the rest was awesome! We would have returned many times as we do this trip often but this experience with a simple request for a specially challenged customer was a real kick to our gut!
