it was a breeze. Nadir sent us ample information to access the lock box as well as to familiarise ourselves with the local area, the house and its facilities and we had his telephone number in case of emergencies, which we did not need of course. There were 6 of us at the house and it was really special for all of us to hang out with our cousins and enjoy this experience. We sat around the breakfast bar counter most days eating, drinking and telling stories!

Robert and Isabelle were the perfect hosts - charming and extremely helpful and friendly - we loved staying at Woodlands which is a lovely property with lovely owners!

Entirely a matter of personal preference but we found the mattress and the pillows a little too firm for our comfort but it didn’t spoil our overall stay at Woodlands which was first class.

The room was a little too high tech, everything was done via an app even the heating and ordering breakfast. It made it a little impersonal. We are good at using apps and found the system straightforward but we know a lot of people of our age would have found this all too hard. I am mentioning this as constructive criticism only.

On suit shower stuck on very hot setting with no adjustment so couldn’t use it. Toilet was not cleaned properly. No toilet paper apart from half a roll in the in suit, nothing in the communal bathroom. No tea towels. Could only find pay on demand TV channels. Stairs leading up to the apartment were dirty with cardboard boxes on the landings.

My first room had blood in the bathroom - on top of the toilet roll holder, on the toilet roll and a small amount on the wall. What also appears to be blood droplets was found on the bed sheets. This is a biohazard and a serious concern. What makes this entire situation worse is the owner was aware the previous guest was unwell - how can you knowingly have an unwell guest and put someone in that room without even changing sheets and thoroughly disinfecting surfaces? In addition to the blood there was toilet paper left on the toilet seat and hair also on the toilet seat. I called the owner upon discovery who agreed that this room has clearly not been cleaned and moved me to a new room which he guarantees was cleaned. Whilst this was a disturbing experience I could have looked past it. However, when I arrived in the new room it became evident that this is not an isolated incident - the same places I found blood were marked and dusty, not even having been wiped down between guests (see toilet roll holder image for example) . There was also toothpaste that had been dripped down the counter the sink sits on. I am disappointed to be leaving a poor review as I can see how valuable this establishment would be to those who need it and I do admire their ethos. However, this situation is frankly dangerous and needs urgent attention.
