The location is excellent, a few hundred yards from the beach. The size of the apartment is excellent, larger than expected. We were in an accessible one (that was the only small one on offer, as we booked last-minute for 2 pax). We had a full wetroom and a second separate WC. All the usual equipment one would expect microwave, iron, hairdryer, towels and linen. Good towels and comfortable beds. Red pull cords are fitted to call for help.

The smell! As soon as we entered, we could smell it was musty. The store cupboard in the entrance hall smells. The main bathroom was obnoxious, with black mould around the bottom of the wetroom/ shower. I complained the next morning when reception opened and the lady came in to inspect. I asked for bleach to clean up myself. She agreed that the smell was a problem. She told me the room had been flooded by the previous occupants. She put some liquid in the drain, then came back later to suction it. She told me the black stuff does not come off. They had tried with toothbrushes, etc. After she left, I was able to wipe some off with a bit of kitchen roll. I didn't have any bleach and there is nowhere in Watergate Bay to buy the like. I was very calm and didn't create merry hell, which I regret as nothing else was done. If there is a problem with a unit, IT SHOULD NOT BE SOLD! We booked online literally the day before! We weren't offered an alternative. There were also smaller things like loose table legs, missing light bulbs and missing sections of window blinds (even though we were on the ground floor overlooking the car park), these paled into significance. I gave 5 out of 10 purely for the location. Not impressed by customer service.

I asked for a change of bedroom because the room I was allocated had an unpleasant smell. It didn't smell fresh. This caused all kinds of difficulties with reception. The manager dealt with the problem and all parties were happy.

The location was not the same as it showed on the map. There was no answer when trying to call them multiple times. They didn't call back. They don't accept credit card for the deposit. They didn't answer questions. In short they didn't care. It didn't feel safe walking from the train station to the property.

1) Their was no staff on site 2) They had no buttons/number on the phones so we couldn't call head office 3)The bedroom smelt of fags so badly was absolutely disgusting 4)The bed had some hairs on which was very disgusting 5)We had noisey next door neighbours and they kept banging on our doors and other people door because of not being able to get into the bathrooms. Their was camera but clearly cameras weren't working or else they would of sorted this person out. So we only had about 2 hours sleep because we was scared of somebody breaking in 5) security is terrible. It's alright getting a pin to get in but their should be locks on the door too and working cameras outside the doors for extra safety.

The bed and pillows and sounds from the room above had us looking forward to a long haul flight home. Hair dryer is from the 1960s and no power points in the bathroom
