The included breakfast is only continental, it's an extra £7 for cooked. The location in Hawes is excellent. Top tips: For Dinner options - would highly recommend The White Hart inn but book in advance or we saw that the Chippy across the road had a queue 10 deep prior to opening which says a lot about the place. The Crown Inn's kitchen wasn't open so we were glad we'd booked the White Hart. The local Spar supermarket is only open until 6pm.

We got bedbug bitten and did inform the staff, the mattress needs replacing as it's way too soft. (a premier Inn mattress is way better).The Staff admitted that they have recently taken over the hotel and are in the midst of renovations. The place is looking a little tired. That said the continental breakfast is abysmal and unorganised, with instant coffee only. A small investment in a multipurpose tea/coffee machine would make a huge difference. As would laying on continental meat and cheese to go with the croissants instead of just jam. Please can the hotel staff be a little more transparent on the booking website of what is occuring presently. it would appear that the 'Board Inn next door' has acquired the hotel. And that you only get a continental breakfast included, after we saw what was included we decided against a cooked breakfast and headed to our next location where we had a bigger lunch. Not good value for money.

Amenities were easily available, breakfast was decent. You get what you pay for, it is right in the middle which is very convenient for travelling around.

Stevie and the kitchen staff were brilliant. Comfy bed. The north bar and restaurant were great. Gym and wellness spa nice.

The rooms lacked real character. The bathroom wasn’t very clean/mould on the silicone around bath. No heated towel rail to put wet towels on. Room still noisy from outside. No view even on top floor. No fridge freezer. The shampoo/body wash hadn’t been topped up in bathroom. No tea or milk on arrival. Water dispenser in gym warm disgusting water. Warm water also in wellness spa which isn’t ideal along with no music in gym or wellness spa just lacked atmosphere.

The owner is clearly trying very hard to get things right. He was polite. The bedding was clean & beds freshly made.

The smell of cannabis. The clean bedding snelling of smoke. No hanging area supplied for clothing in room. A mirror would have been useful. Having to wait over an hour past my stated arrival time to get into the room. No sugar or milk available in kitchen area to go with tea/coffee. I asked if there was parking & told yes....this was simply parking on the street. The room I had was not the one in photo on the link with my booking.

Our twin room had been created by splitting a double bed so one bed had the edge of the headboard with sockets etc. The bathroom was very small.

Couldn’t get in till 4oclock door lock to room didn’t work without wrestling with front door lock hanging off had to help another guest into his room faulty lock again toilet tiles were coming up on floor light switch was not a pull cord chance of electric shock really run down building sticking plasters over faults
