I took my husband for an overnight stay at Marr Hall to celebrate our anniversary. We thought the location was lovely; the character property looks amazing and is currently being refurbished with minimal disruption, the staff were friendly and relaxed, the spa was great and the golf course looked good as well. We had a spacious room on the top floor with a large en-suite bathroom. The dinner was delicious and there was a good selection in the buffet style breakfast. We would definitely stay again. It would be a great place to enjoy a golf or spa break with friends.

There was nothing really that we didn’t like. It looks like there are plans to upgrade the property and add some lodges which may cause a little disruption for some guests.

Breakfast was good - Although the orange juice jar was empty on the table and the bread for the toast was thin sliced ! Normally for toast it would be medium sliced.

No notification of Wifi in my room. Towels too hard - would have expected softer towels. Hot water tap was not good - when turned to hot - the water was a very slow trickle !

Location is brilliant. Small park for walking dog. Newly painted and carpeted.

Lovely balcony but no outside furniture, as stated. No curtains in back bedroom & no bedside tables or lamps. No iron & ironing board. Living room not cosy, quite empty.

The accommodation is very tired - fraying carpets, evidence of damp in numerous areas, mattress lacking any support, lighting had missing lamps, bathroom fittings missing or broken, furniture badly in need of replacement, decoration required throughout. Not sure how they comply with fire requirements - no emergency lighting, no evidence of central fire panel only local smoke detectors. We had to change room as the allocated one smelt damp / stale beer.

The building in general, the stairway was dangerous in that there was open wiring, awful smell, the carpet ripped and the door not very secure. Definitely do not take small children here, the area isnt safe.
