For the B&B rate we paid this hotel was excellent value. It is situated on a quiet leafy avenue but near to a bus stop with several routes and a short walk to the sea front. The cleanliness was first rate, the staff were pleasant and the breakfast was good. There were some nice lounges and a large conservatory to relax in on the ground floor together with a small bar. The room and bathroom were nicely furnished, basic but immaculately clean. Access for the less able appeared to be catered for.

The bedside lamp was useless for reading, but this is a minor niggle. Parking appeared to be a little restricted but as we use public transport this was of no concern to us. Overall the hotel was very good indeed.

The apartment is in an excellent location right in the center of Pontefract. All day parking is a minutes walk away and only £3. The apartment is clean and extremely comfortable with 2 rooms both en-suite and a further shower room in the living room which has a sofa bed. Excellent value for money.

Don't be put off by the alleyway entrance as there is a bit of a pigeon issue.

The staff were fantastic, they could not have been more friendly and helpful particularly at helping change rooms so we had a seaview. Vicky was exceptionally friendly and treated us as though we were old friends!

Just a couple of nights stay, selected as close to railway where we were catching a train at 7am on first morning of our stay. Arriving back late so we were only in room for short period.

wanted to leave early on Sunday so were down at breakfast just after it opened but were ignored for at least 15 mins. Really annoying fixed soap/shampoo in shower, unable to get proper amount out to wash hair. Prefer to pay more and have decent shampoo etc.

The hotel’s location is absolutely wonderful and has a rich history. Beautiful building and wondeful looking gardens. Just a short walk from the main road and bus stop is nearby.

Upon arrival the welcome was anything but warm, which is a shame altogether but certainly for a wonderful looking place like this. I have to admit that prior to my travels the phone communication with the hotel had been fine. There was a lack of good communication between staff as to booked breakfast. All in all a great stay but welcoming the guests can be improved.
