Nant Ucha farm is located in a very quiet area. There is plenty of hard standing parking for guests. The cottages are well maintained, clean and warm with nice large towels provided in the bathroom with a shower gel and shampoo dispenser in the cubicle. The kitchen area of the one we stayed in was basic but was adequate for our stay. There is no hob, just a hotplate if needed.

The farm is located up a fairly steep hill (with potholes) and very few passing places so be prepared to reverse if needs be, farm vehicles are bigger than the average car!! The lane leading into the farm itself is again pretty steep so care required to navigate. Fresh eggs, tea, coffee, biscuits and a small jug of milk are provided but felt that perhaps a small loaf of bread and some butter would have been a welcome extra. The bed was termed as a "captains bed" and thus only accessible by climbing up three steps onto the mattress.. .so slightly difficult to get in and out of. You are also requested to strip the bed before you depart which is fine but difficult due to the accessibility as previously described.

The Coleshill is a very convenient location for the NEC and the rooms are a nice size, even if the lighting in the bedroom I had was a bit dingy! The onsite registration sign-up system meant there were no squatters in the car park to take up spaces needed by residents - definitely a good idea! The shower was hot and powerful; a great wakeup!

I've stayed here for many years and in previous visits the breakfast has been comprehensive. This time, a lot of the options that were on the buffet had been taken off. I opted for Eggs Benedict but they had no ham, so the chef used bacon. It was so overpoweringly salty that it killed the Hollandaise. Just a small point but if you're going to offer something, it's nice to have it done properly. The hotel itself is reaching the point where a repaint and refit wouldn't go amiss. Everything works but it is just a bit jaded. Would we stay there again? Yes. Would we stay for breakfast? There are other options we might prefer unless they up their game!

The room was very spacious and very comfortable. Some really nice touches like turning down the bed etc. Plenty of water, tea and coffee. No wardrobes or drawer space though - which was a little strange. No bother since e were only there 2 nights but would be a little difficult for a longer stay.

Breakfast! Took our order (table of 9 people). Waitress repeated it back perfectly...... that's when it all went wrong! Wrong dishes arrived. Some dishes didn't arrive. Some dishes were missing items ordered e.g. one guest simply wanted toast butter and jam. Toast arrived...... 20 minutes later still no sign of butter or jam. One guest never got their breakfast despite complaints to server. Complained to management who happened to be brewery area manager visiting!
