The owners Leslie and Mike were very friendly and welcoming,the room was very clean and had everything you needed in there. I am gluten free and I was looked after very well with what breakfast I needed. We will definitely be going back there when we can and the location was fantastic,the sea and beach was a 2 minute walk away.

Sanjeewa was a host who did the most - he very kindly accommodated all of our needs, and made us feel like we were home again in Canterbury, where we used to live during our studies. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here, as the location and price were great, and the hospitality was above board.

Location was not bad. 15 min walk to train stations and food options nearby. New towels daily and beds made.

The shower was unusable. Water in shower kept heating up and could not be lowered no matter how hot you set it to. Walls had stains. Carpet was ripped in spots.

Spacious room in main old building, and was clean.

Stayed 2 nights for a wedding, both nights shortage of staff caused delays in drinks and food service. Night before one person waited 1.5hrs for food after we had sat. Food portions were silly, pasta dish for adult was same size as child's, steak was well cooked when asked for rare and re bought out more cooked as run out of steak, and others food was cold. Was given it all for free as most didn't eat, and we ordered in Pizza.

Carpets in the bathroom and kitchen are really out of date these days, especially the bathroom........ The bed was not too good, the duvet is a lump of heaviness and the cover is 2 sheets joined together and long bits of the cover fall to the floor. An upgrade to the duvet and a nice cover would allow me to sleep better! I didn't sleep well. Also the fitting for the shower head is broken.

Worn and outdated room. Almost anywhere you look there's an item crooked or loose. Bathroom was clean but usability was horrible. I was afraid to fully open the glass shower door/wall since the hinges looked loose.

Some furniture was ran down, such as the sofa, there were not enough sockets in the room and some did not work properly, you could clearly hear the water when someone was showering upstairs.
